Listen to a Story
We have a growing library of stories that you may wish you to use with your child when learning at home. Some of them are familiar to children and link to nurture themes, such as anxiety, what to do with worries and other feelings and emotions. Others are well-known stories that children enjoy. We hope you enjoy sharing them together!
You can find the stories here:
Team Meadows

Building Emotional Resilience in Kids | [pdf 165KB] |

At The Meadows, we:
- help children to understand their emotions and feelings better
- help children feel comfortable sharing any concerns or worries
- help children socially to form and maintain relationships
- promote self-esteem and ensure children know that they count
- help children to develop emotional resilience and to manage setbacks.
Our Environment
We seek to create a happy and creative environment in in which everyone is valued. Each day, a calm environment is created in each classroom as pupils enter, and music plays as the children begin an introductory activity. A programme of timetabled support for individuals and groups of children is provided by the nurture team throughout the week. Our family support worker, Miss Gray, liaises with families regularly and provides guidance and advice. The calm environment of our Sunshine Room provides space during lessons, and at lunch time, for children to complete learning activities as required. Our social club and calm club also provide opportunities for pupils at lunchtimes.
